Luke has been working professionally in the Information Technology industry since 1998. He has experience in nearly every aspect of web development, with a specialization in Front-End Multimedia Development & Design. He is the original founder of Outshine Web Design and has built a thriving business based on quality design and development, and customer service that is above and beyond what his clients expect.

Ben has been involved in the Information Technology industry since 1999 with an emphasis on Hardware, Network Management and Online Marketing. He has developed and sold several businesses including a business with an e-commerce division equal in sales to the brick and mortar side. After the initial planning and requirement gathering phase, your project begins development.

Suicide Squeeze Records

Suicide Squeeze Records is one of the most respected and appreciated indie labels in music today. With early releases from Elliott Smith and Modest Mouse to their current roster that includes Minus the Bear, These Arms Are Snakes and Russian Circles they have established themselves as a label full of amazing talent and genre-spanning releases. I've been working on a freelance basis with Suicide Squeeze Records for the past year, as was extremely excited to have the opportunity to design, develop and implement an entirely new web presence for the legendary indie label.

This project utilized Adobe Flash Player 9 as the front-end interface and a MySQL back-end that contains all artist and product information. All content is completely dynamic and is queried with PHP which loads into Flash through XML.

There are several neat bells & whistles including the streaming music player, the random background color fades and the ability to sort and organize store items.

Minus the Bear

Seattle prog-rockers Minus the Bear contacted me to design, develop and implement a unique and immersive web site to be released in conjunction with their latest album, Planet of Ice.

The site features a music player that streams the entire album, which served as a sneak peak before the album's release. The site's other features include a custom video section, dynamic photo gallery, and CMS-based Tour section that the band's management uses to update their rigorous tour schedule. The band's only specific request was that I create realistic clouds that would move along the top of the site. After a little trial and error I was able to develop a dynamic cloud script that randomly renders and animates the clouds, so you'll never see the same formation twice. Because the animation is somewhat CPU intensive, I also implemented code that detects the visitor's CPU speed and removes the clouds when neccesary.

Minus the Bear have been successful for many years, but with a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and several world tours under their belt, they are beginning to reach the masses.
